CODE Workshop on European Potential for CogenerationPublished on 09-10-2009
COGEN Europe is the project coordinator of the CODE project. This project monitors and reports back on the implementation of the Cogeneration Directive into national legislation. One of the obligations for the 27 EU Member States is to report on the national potential for cogeneration. Following the publication of these national potential studies, a European preliminary assessment was produced and presented to the audience at a lunch debate on Thursday 8 October in the European Parliament in Brussels. The assessment showed that EU Member States reports reveal that cogeneration is an economic option in the search for measures to close the energy efficiency gap in the 2020 energy savings target.
