Seminar on funding for cogeneration projects, 2 December in Sofia, BulgariaPublished on 02-12-2009
In order to support the development of cogeneration in Eastern Europe, and in Bulgaria in particular, and to provide an overview of the existing financial support for project development and other initiatives, COGEN Europe and COGEN Bulgaria organised a seminar on the possible funding instruments for cogeneration projects in Bulgaria. The seminar took place on Wednesday 2 December in Sofia and was an opportunity for business to meet and get an update of the available funding possibilities for energy efficiency in general and cogeneration in specific.
In two sessions international and national speakers have provided an overview of the main instruments available on European and on national level. The first session focused on funding at European level and addressed the Structural Funds and other EU financing mechanisms, European Investment Bank (EIB) finance assistance and project co-funding instruments such as Intelligent Energy Europe (EEI) and FP (Framework Programme). The second session focused on the available national funding programmes.
