On 7 July 2010 our German National COGEN Association B.KWK co-organises a “Workshop on cogeneration in hospitals” in Düsseldorf from 09.30 – 15.30 o‘clock. Stakeholders workshop on the review of the Cogeneration Directive

Within the CODE project, a workshop has been organised on the possible review of the Cogeneration Directive. On 3 June in Brussels cogeneration experts met up to discuss how the sector regards the current Cogeneration Directive and discuss in the light of the potential review experiences, recommendations and how to make the Directive more efficient. Joint COGEN Europe and Euroheat&Power Annual Conference 2010

2010 will be the first time that the sectors representing cogeneration and district heating have used their most visible annual events to send a united message to the Commission and Parliament. Euroheat&Power and COGEN Europe seized the opportunity to emphasize the proven capability and still untapped potential for cogeneration and district heating in the more efficient use of energy in Europe.

The Joint Euroheat&Power and COGEN Europe Annual Conference took place on Wednesday 2 June at the Conrad Hotel in Brussels.

6th International Congress & Exhibition for South Eastern Europe, 14-16 April 2010, Sofia, Bulgaria

COGEN Europe supported the International Congress & Exhibition on Energy Efficiency & Renewable Energy Sources for South Eastern Europe, as organised by Via Expo on 14-16 in Sofia, Bulgaria. The event had Germany as strategic partner and Italy as a focus country. The Conference outlined how EE & RES can have a wider application in the SEE Region so it becomes more energy independent. Covered topics were the following: Energy Efficiency and Cogeneration, e-Mobility, RES Electricity, RES Heating& Cooling, new trends, double and triple use, municipality energy independence, case studies and presentation of the new EE & RES Federation for South-East Europe. COGEN Europe seminar at the EUSEW2010, 25 March, Brussels, Belgium

COGEN Europe organised – together with the Berlin Energy Agency – a seminar on Thursday 25 March on the possibilities of promoting cogeneration in cities. The title is “Promoting innovative cogeneration in cities” and the seminar have been an official event within the annual EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW). The seminar has shown best practice examples of cogeneration in urban areas and ways to promote these successful approaches among other cities in Europe. Find the agenda and press release here.
