“Cut your energy bills with cogeneration!” is a basic guide on the principles and profitability of small-scale cogeneration. It is aimed at inspiring the reader to reflect on the question whether the installation of a small-scale cogeneration unit would help to reduce energy costs and to contribute to a greener future.

The basic guide sets out basic cogeneration principles and benefits, small-scale cogeneration project opportunities in cities, a description of the phases of small-scale cogeneration projects, key economic parameters, different prime mover technologies, fuel types, applications, and environmental benefits for the wide range of local and regional small-scale applications. The role of interconnection rules, administrative permitting and licensing procedures, public support schemes are highlighted as well. Finally, the brochure includes a users’ manual for the assessment software easyCOGEN.xls.
