COGEN Europe at EU Sustainable Energy Week 2015
This year COGEN Europe is involved in three events at the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) High-Level Policy Conference in Brussels.
The EUSEW High-Level Policy Conference is the European Union’s flagship annual event focusing on sustainable energy policy, and includes some 50 conferences organised by the European institutions and external stakeholders. For more information, please visit www.eusew.eu.
Firstly, COGEN Europe and EnergyCities are hosting an event at the High Level Policy Conference entitled 'Reclaiming energy choices: going local to fight global challenges' on the afternoon of 18 June (16:00-17:30, 7th floor, Committee of the Regions). The event will feature a keynote address by DG Energy (European Commission), with other speakers representing the energy efficiency sector and European cities. Discussions will focus on the challenges currently facing cities large and small and show how local responses to these challenges can be transformed into a positive movement in which aware and active citizens (via their local authorities) contribute to achieving societal goals).
COGEN Europe Managing Director Fiona Riddoch will present the ene.field project for residential fuel cell micro-CHP at another event of the EUSEW High-Level Policy Conference on the morning of 18 June. Hosted by the Fuel Cells and Hydrogen Joint Undertaking (FCH JU) – a European Commission-backed PPP supporting research, technological development and demonstration (RTD) activities in fuel cell and hydrogen energy technologies in Europe – the event is entitled 'Public-Private Partnership as a tool to accelerate energy innovation' and takes place at 09:00-10:30 on the 5th floor of the Committee of the Regions.
Thirdly, COGEN Europe is a partner of an event organised by the IDEAS Platform dedicated to finding innovative solutions for Europe's energy future through citizen engagement. The IDEAS Platform is an informal grouping of over 15 industry associations, green NGOs and think-tanks promoting ideas to innovate Europe's energy systems. The event is entitled 'IDEAS to capture the potential of flexible demand' and takes place on 17 June from 11:00-12:30 on the 5th floor of the Committee of the Regions.
Online pre-registration has now closed. To attend these events, please sign up on site on the day.
