COGEN Europe is proud to announce the enlargement of its Executive Committee with the election of three new members at the association’s General Assembly on Thursday 2 December 2021. The new Executive Committee members are: Dora Adamo – Strategy and Growth Leader at Baker Hughes, Stefan Liesner – Head of Public Affairs and Public Relations at 2G Energy, and Hans Vandersyppe – Head of COGEN Flanders. At the same time, Carl Richers – Vice President Product Management & Marketing at INNIO Jenbacher – has been newly elected as one of COGEN Europe’s two Vice-Chairs for the coming two years, in which capacity he will serve alongside Csaba Kiss from COGEN Hungary, who was elected as Vice-Chair in June 2021.
The General Assembly also decided to re-appoint five members of COGEN Europe’s Executive Committee to serve for a further term of two years. They are: Marc Vignal of Solar Turbines (who is currently the Treasurer of COGEN Europe), Yavuz Aydin of CogenTURK, Marco Golinelli of Italcogen, Georg Klene of B.KWK (the German CHP Association) and Raimon Argemi of COGEN Spain. Thanks to the filling of two previously vacant positions, the overall size of COGEN Europe’s Executive Committee has grown from 11 to 13 members.
The Chair of COGEN Europe, Marco Pezzaglia, welcomed the election of three new members to the Executive Committee. “I am very pleased that our Executive Committee has been strengthened by the election of three new members alongside the re-appointment of five previously-serving members. I am confident that with our expanded and reinforced team of experienced professionals, we are ready to seize the opportunities and address the challenges that the cogeneration sector is currently facing – from the need to reduce CO2 emissions to the integration and decentralisation of our energy systems.”
Hans Korteweg, Managing Director at COGEN Europe, expressed satisfaction that so many members are ready to invest their time and energy in the association. “The fact that we have more members who want to be represented in the Executive Committee can really be seen as a vote of confidence in COGEN Europe, which aims to bring together the whole of Europe’s cogeneration community, including both multinational companies and national associations. I am very pleased to see that our members are so enthusiastic and willing to invest their time and energy into our activities at European level – especially our advocacy towards the EU institutions on policies related to the European Green Deal and the ‘Fit for 55’ package.”
