PRESS RELEASE
11 January 2024
COGEN Europe, the European Association for the Promotion of Cogeneration, is proud to welcome EXERGY as a new member (since 1 January 2024). Founded in 2009, EXERGY specialises in the design, engineering and manufacturing of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems which can efficiently produce electricity from a wide variety of heat sources including geothermal, biomass, solar energy and industrial processes.
“We are very proud to welcome EXERGY as a member of COGEN Europe,” says Hans Korteweg, Managing Director of COGEN Europe. “EXERGY has established itself as a leading player in the field of ORC technology, which is growing in importance as industries look for ways to reduce their energy consumption and costs by using energy more efficiently and avoiding waste. I am confident that EXERGY will make a valuable contribution to our activities, notably those relating to the recovery and use of excess heat, following on from our recent involvement in the HEATLEAP* project.”
“COGEN Europe is the authoritative voice for the cogeneration industry in Europe, a reference for any technology provider working in this sector wanting to establish strategic connections and being represented toward EU policymakers,” comments Paolo Danesi, EXERGY’s Sales Director. “At EXERGY we have developed through the years expertise and technologies to enable decarbonization by means of efficient heat recovery solutions. As a company, we want to focus more on cogeneration applications and joining COGEN Europe will provide us with unique opportunities to be part of an international community – sharing knowledge, establishing partnerships and contributing more actively to support the drafting of good policies that can help to widen the use of cogeneration in Europe.”
About EXERGY
EXERGY International SRL is a leading provider of clean energy technologies, with its headquarters in northern Italy. Founded in 2009, EXERGY has a particular expertise in the design, engineering and manufacturing of Organic Rankine Cycle (ORC) systems that utilise Radial Outflow Turbines.
EXERGY’s proprietary technologies, covered by several patents, enable highly efficient clean energy production via the exploitation of various heat sources such as geothermal, excess heat from energy intensive industries and processes in the oil and gas sector, as well as biomass and concentrated solar power. The EXERGY portfolio accounts for a combined electrical output of over 500 MWe and includes the second largest geothermal binary fleet in the world.
Since 2019, EXERGY has been part of the TICA Group (headquartered in Nanjing, China), which integrates R&D, manufacturing, sales and servicing. Through this strategic alliance, EXERGY is able to offer a wide range of clean technologies and green power generation solutions.
